Aluminum Extrusion Consulting
When a plant is underperforming, the path forward requires someone who has seen every failure mode — and fixed them. Apex brings senior-level extrusion expertise to turnarounds, startups, and operational overhauls.
About Apex
Apex Extrusion Consulting was founded on a simple premise: the best consulting comes from people who have actually run the equipment, managed the crews, and owned the results. With 48 years in the aluminum extrusion industry — beginning at age 18 — our founder has worked at every level of the operation, from press operator to executive, at three of the industry's most respected companies.
When you engage Apex, you're not getting a generalist or a recent industry observer. You're getting someone who has seen the same problems your plant is facing — and knows the fastest, most practical path through them.
What We Do
Practical, senior-level support across every critical dimension of an aluminum extrusion operation.
Rapid diagnostic of underperforming operations — scrap rates, downtime, throughput, yield — followed by a structured improvement plan with measurable milestones.
Process review of extrusion press operations to improve cycle times, reduce defects, extend die life, and maximize billet utilization.
Evaluation and improvement of die design, tooling specifications, and correction procedures to reduce die failures and improve profile quality.
End-to-end support for new facility launches: layout, equipment selection, staffing structure, process standards, and ramp-up planning.
Specification, vendor evaluation, and procurement advisory for presses, handling systems, aging ovens, and ancillary equipment — new or used.
Structured training programs for press operators, shift supervisors, and plant managers covering process fundamentals, quality standards, and safety protocols.
Ideal Clients
Apex is built for situations where performance gaps are real and the stakes are high. We work best when there is a clear problem to solve and an owner or operator who is serious about fixing it.
PE firms that have acquired an extrusion asset and need independent operational expertise to assess the business, drive improvement, or support a turnaround thesis.
Operations leaders facing persistent quality issues, capacity constraints, or process inefficiencies who need a senior outside perspective and hands-on support.
Companies entering the aluminum extrusion market who need guidance on facility design, equipment selection, process development, and team building from day one.
